　　发病后应休息，口服消炎药，便后睡前用硝矾洗剂熏洗，外敷消炎;用纱布蘸25%硼酸，甘油溶液涂于肛门，再用热水袋外敷，疗效显着。内外药物治疗可以治愈。
　　二、血栓性外痔
　　1、非手术疗法：患者休息，禁食辛辣及饮酒，时口服麻仁滋脾丸，使排便通畅，便后用硝矾洗剂熏洗。
　　2、手术疗法：经非手术治疗1周，血栓尚未溶解和吸收反而增大、症状加重者，可及时行血栓摘除术，能立即减轻疼痛，血栓性外痔有手指，挤压摘除术和分离摘除术，两种方法。手指挤压摘除术，适用于血栓单纯孤立，与周围无粘连者。分离摘除术，适用于血栓较大且，与周围粘连者或多个血栓者。
　　三、静脉曲张性外痔治疗方式，如无内痔或症状不明显、肿块小者可不治疗。注意保持肛门卫生，用热水袋外敷，可改善局部血液循环，保持现状不再发展增大即可。如继续增大影响劳动和生活，非手术治疗无效时，可在局麻下行外痔静脉剥离术。
　　四、结缔组织性外痔无明显症状时，无须治疗，要保持肛门卫生，便后用温盐水洗浴，防止反复感染。必要可口服麻仁滋脾丸、通便灵。如有炎症应局部热敷，便后、睡前用硝矾洗剂熏洗，外敷消炎软膏。非手术治疗无效时，可行外痔切除术。
