总共有4*3=12种A(8,1)*A(7,3)*A(4,2)*A(2,2)/(3!*2!*2!) C(4,1)*C(3,1)*A(8,1)*A(7,3)*A(4,2)*A(2,2)/(3!*2!*2!) ÷4^8=0.

On March 29, 2011, the world saw the grand opening of the world&s highest hotel in Hong Kong. It is located in the city&s tallest skyscraper, the International Commerce Centre, and offers full views of the world famous Victoria Harbor. Poised high above the congested streets of Hong Kong, at about 490 meters (1608 feet), the Ritz-Carlton Hotel is making its grand comeback after a temporary closing in 2008.
The President and Chief Operations Officer of Ritz-Carlton, Herve Humler told reporters, &We&re opening a modern hotel which took us about 10 years to build. We are taking luxury () to new heights in every sense to compete. People compete all around the world about everything.& Ritz-Carlton&s fame will be short-lived, as they will lose the title in 2014, when the world&s highest hotel will be open in the 600-meter Shanghai Tower according to media experts.
The Ritz-Carlton will also be one of the most expensive hotels, with its rate starting at $6,000 a night for a deluxe room! A presidential suite is going for HKD $100,000. And any &president& admitting to paying such a figure these days will probably be up for criticism. It is equipped with the highest bar in the world, and a top-floor pool that will feature a 19-metre ceiling-mounted LCD screen. Swimmers can enjoy watching from the warmth of the heated waters. The hotel also has one of the largest ballrooms in the city at 930 square meters. It would be like dancing in the sky. One can well imagine ...
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel is owned by Marriott-International, headquartered in Maryland in the US. The purpose of having a hotel at such a height would have to be&the view. The hotel also takes advantage of the financial capital of
and its geographical position next to mainland China where most of the world&s manufacturing () takes place, and that will draw a great number of tourists to Hong Kong. It was indeed a very clear-sighted move, one that will likely pay off!

Once thought by early scientists to be the work of a clever hoax, the platypus () is one of the few
known to science to actually turn out to be stranger in fact than in fiction. Combining features of mammals, birds, and reptiles (), the platypus is a feature of curiosity, and is still being extensively studied in its native Australia and across the world.
Native to Australia, the platypus relies on freshwater lakes. The platypus is awkward on land, and makes an inefficient hunter out of the water. Because of agricultural development and urban spread, freshwater bodies are decreasing, which is threatening the platypus& natural habitat.
The platypus feeds on worms, shellfish, fish and insects, which it locates with the aid of an ability to sense its food&s electrical impulses (). Because the platypus lacks teeth, it consumes small quantities of small stones and mud with its food, which help digest the food. The platypus can consume its food within a 24-hour period. While all hunting is done in the water, the platypus spends its resting hours in land-based holes.
The platypus is one of only two mammals known to science which lay eggs rather than give birth to live young. The eggs hatch after 10 days and are completely helpless without their mother. The female platypus will nurse the young for three to four months until they are able to survive on their own.
As if the strange combination of features and egg-laying habits were not enough to make the platypus special, the male platypus is also one of the very few poisonous mammals, defending itself with sharp needles on both back-legs. A male platypus can kill a small dog and make an adult human extremely ill. It is thought that these needles are used to fight for and defend a chosen female during the breeding season.
64. According to Paragraph 1, the platypus ________.
&& A. hasn&t been studied by scientists up to now
&& B. can only be seen in a science fiction movie
&& C. is a kind of cold-blooded animal
&& D. still remains mysterious to humans

&& A. Because it has no food to eat after leaving water.
&& B. Because more and more freshwater lakes are disappearing.
&& C. Because more freshwater lakes are being polluted.
& &D. Because it is being hunted by human beings.
66. From Paragraph 3 we can infer that the platypus ________.
&& A. has an amazing digestive ability
&& B. hunts for food with its sensitive eyesight
&& C. enjoys eating food with stones inside
&& D. spends more time on land than in water
67. To defend itself, the male platypus ________.
&& A. bites with its sharp teeth&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& B. fights against a female platypus
&& C. uses poisonous needles&&&&&&& &&&&&& &&&&&& D. gives off poisonous smells
A revolutionary new form of body armour () has been invented to help save British troops& lives. Scientists have created a top-secret liquid that absorbs the force of a shot by thickening and hardening instantly on impact. Defence chiefs believe bulletproof jackets made from the liquid will be lighter, more flexible and offer greater protection for soldiers on the battlefield.
Researchers have inserted the thickening fluid between sheets of traditional fiber to produce the &super armour&. The liquid has been compared to custard () because the molecules () lock together and &thicken& in the same way as the dessert sauce reacts to being stirred when heated. Experts say this will create armour that is about half as heavy as standard bullet-proof vests which allows greater flexibility for troops.
Soldiers currently struggle with clumsy body armour made up of special plates and layered fiber, which is five times stronger than steel but can block movement. It is also uncomfortable in hot war zones.
Researchers tested the material by firing bullets from a 9mm handgun into 31 layers of untreated fiber and 10 layers of fiber combined with the &custard&. When the liquid armour was struck, the impact was spread over a wider area. This reduces the chances of soldiers being injured or killed by the force of a bullet because it is not concentrated on one small area.
BAe Systems will develop the liquid armour so it can take the force of more powerful guns, including the AK47. The company believes soldiers could be using the new protective vests in two years. Nick Haigh, a spokesman for BAe Systems, said, &There is a fair amount of interest from the Ministry of Defence and we hope that it ends up being worn by frontline troops. The traditional fiber protective vest is very effective but it is pretty heavy and clumsy. If we are able to reduce the weight burden for soldiers they will be able to do their jobs more effectively.&
68. The passage is mainly about ________.
& &A. the invention of new liquid body armour
& &B. the importance of wearing a body armour in war
&&&C. the comparison of several kinds of body armour
&&&D. the disadvantages of a conventional body armour
69. How does the liquid armour become strong enough to defend attacks?
&&&A. The liquid can turn into fiber quickly.
&&&B. The fiber will be combined with the liquid.
&&&C. The fiber gets much stronger when it becomes wet.
& D. The liquid grows thicker when it is struck by a bullet.
70. The liquid armour can lessen the force of a bullet because ________.
& &A. there are more layers of fiber in it
& &B. the fiber is specially treated by the liquid
&&&C. the pressure is spread over a larger region
&&&D. the liquid can make fiber smooth enough
71. From the passage we can infer that the liquid armour ________.
&&&A. has been used by the British army
&B. is not perfect and needs to be improved
& C. is much cheaper than the traditional one
& &D. will be developed by the Ministry of Defence
Are you unsure of the future? Do you feel as if you have put in a lot of effort, yet you still haven&t gotten anywhere? Are your relationships getting sour? If the answer to all these questions is yes, then you&re in for some serious reflection.
& A negative perspective () on life will definitely not do you any good. It will only stop you from achieving your goals, and will make you feel more and more unhappy. When you lack self confidence, you tend to play safe and do just what is needed instead of exploring your full potentials. Your fears and self doubt are in fact the main villains that stop you from achieving success and keep you from living the life that you truly want. Understand this: the barrier to your happiness is your own insecurity and cowardly manner.
&&How do you escape your self-bondage ()? With the help of individuals who have gone through life&s tragedies without being affected, such as Rebecca Richmond, a widely admired life coach, you can take hold of your life and transform yourself from being afraid into a person with a positive outlook who is ready to get hold of the bright future that awaits you. The most important thing that you need to realize is that you have the power to change your life. You can reach unimaginable heights if you only believe in your ability to do so. See the unlimited opportunities that are set before you. Take challenges as lessons that make you strong and mature.
& Do not let your painful past dictate the person that you would become. Open your eyes and see the beautiful person that you are. You deserve to live a better life
one that is full of love, peace of mind, and prosperity.
72. If you answer &Yes& to the questions mentioned in Paragraph 1, _________.
A. you&ve made much progress

C. you are in a bad condition
D. you will have a bright future
When you lack self confidence, you _________.
A. are likely to like adventures
B. are short of the spirit of exploration
C. are not full of potentials
D. always fall behind others
BWhen you lack self confidence, you tend to play safe and do just what is needed instead of exploring your full potentialsB

W: Who went to the Expo with you, John?
M: Tom and Jenny. Tom&s uncle took us there in his car and we came back by bus.
W: Take the medicine and I&m sure you&ll get well again in a couple of hours.
M: I hope so. Or I won&t be able to take part in the meeting about tomorrow&s basketball match.
M: Mary, will you go to the cinema with Kate or go fishing with me today? &
W: Neither. I&ll stay home preparing for my English Contest next Monday. They say it&ll be very difficult.
M: It&s almost five, Mum. Why hasn&t Dad returned?
W: Maybe he&s been caught in a jam.
M: The film will start in half an hour. I don&t want to miss the first part.
W: We won&t, Frank. The cinema is only five minutes& walk and Dad is sure to be back before 5:10.
W: Have you returned the magazine to Tony, Frank?
M: No. Paula took it away as soon as I finished it. Why, Joan?
W: He borrowed it from the library. He must renew it if he can&t return it before Friday.
M: I see. I&ll go and find Paula right now.
M: Why haven&t you gone home, little girl? What are you looking for?
W: I&m looking for my bike. But I don&t remember where I put it when I came this morning.
M: That&s too bad. What brand is it?
W: It&s a Giant. My uncle bought it for my birthday last year.
M: Did you lock it?
W: Oh, I remember now. Something went wrong with the lock yesterday so I left it with the shop owner to repair it. I must go there for it. See you!
M: See you!
W: Mr Hunter, do you know where the post office is? &
M: Yes, Alice. And you can follow me if you want to. I&m going there myself. &
W: That&s great. How shall we go there?
M: On foot, of course. It&s only fifteen minutes& walk. By the way, what are you going to do in the post office?
W: To send a card to my brother. All my family members have come to stay here except him. He is now in his university in Washington, preparing for a music concert. Well, I can see you are quite familiar with Hawaii. Have you been here many times?
M: Yes, and we always stay in this hotel. The food is good and the price is low.
W: That&s just why my parents chose to stay here.
W: John is always singing the same song in the next room these days. Do you know why? &
M: Yes. He&s now practicing for a singing competition. &
W: When did he learn to sing?
M: Last summer vacation. When we all went home he went to learn with a professor in the art school, who said John is a promising singer.&&&
W: That&s fine. Do you know where the competition will take place? &
M: Yes, in the concert hall of the university. And over twenty students will sing there. Most of them are from the art school.
W: When will the competition be held?
M: This Sunday. Will you be free then? If so, let&s go and watch it.
W: OK. I&m eager to see how well John will sing there.
M: Come in, Ms Chen. What can I do for you?
W: Well, what English papers will you recommend to your students this term, Mr Yang?
M: I haven&t decided yet. What about you?
W: The Student Times is very good. Many students have read the paper, and nearly all of them praise it highly.
M: I know of the paper, but I haven&t read a copy. Is there any difference between the paper and 21st Century?
W: Well, 21st Century publishes mainly English news passages. The Student Times is made up of several sections, including words, sentence structures, language points and passages of reading material. It is more closely related to the students& lessons.
M: I guess the students will make faster progress with the help of the paper.
W: Right. Many students say their English study becomes easier when they have the paper to help them.
M: OK, Ms Chen. We shall use the paper this term. How much does a copy cost?
W: Not expensive. Only 1.3 yuan.
M: Then 26 yuan will do a student good for a term?
W: That&s right.
A 66-year-old man named Ziona in India&s remote northeast has 39 wives, 94 children and 33 grandchildren, all living under one roof. They all live in a four storied building with 100 rooms in a mountain village in Mizoram state, according to reports. His wives share a dormitory near his private bedroom and the locals said he likes to have seven or eight of them by his side at all times. The sons and their wives, and all their children, live in different rooms in the same building, but share a common kitchen. The wives take turns cooking, while his daughters clean the house and do washing. The men do outdoor jobs like farming and taking care of livestock. The family, all 167 of them, consumes around 200 pounds of rice and more than 130 pounds of potatoes a day. They are supported by their own resources and occasional donations from followers. &Even today, I am ready to expand my family and willing to go to any extent to marry,& Ziona said. &I have so many people to care for and look after, and I consider myself a lucky man.& Ziona met his oldest wife, who is three years older than him, when he was 17.
He is the head of a local Christian religious group, called the &Chana&, which allows men to have many wives. Formed in June 1942, the group believes it will soon be ruling the world with Christ and has a membership of around 400 families.

Recently, a new regulation was issued that made drunk driving a crime and that a drunk-driver will be imprisoned for one to six months and be fined. A majority of people are in favor of this regulation, while a few people claim that it is too strict.
& I totally support the regulation. First, drunk driving endangers people&s lives. We have seen and heard of a large number of examples where drunk driving has taken away many innocent lives and made many families full of sadness. Also, drunk driving is very dangerous to the drivers themselves.
& Second, facts have proved that if a drunk-driver is just fined and not severely punished, it doesn&t act as a warning to them and to other people. Thus many people will go on with this dangerous act and pose great danger to others.
