笔者是做蛋白功能相关研究的，而且对自己的课题前景有比较清晰地认识。所以对杂志的剖析也仅限于该领域的2-5分杂志。
这期我们看一下BMC系列，BMC是biomedcentral的简称。
我们首先看一下该领域的老大BMC
Biology&（IF=4.6）
&the flagship biology journal of the BMC series
- publishes research and methodology articles of special importance
and broad interest in any area of biology and biomedical sciences.
The fields covered include biochemistry, cell biology, chemical
biology, computational biology, developmental biology, ecology,
evolutionary biology, genetics, genomics, immunology, microbiology,
molecular biology, neurobiology, pharmacology, physiology, plant
biology, structural biology and systems biology.
Criteria for publication
To be appropriate for BMC Biology, articles need to be of
special importance and broad interest. This will be determined by
in-house editorial assessment, peer review and by the advice of a
member of the Editorial Board. There are no restrictions on the
length of an article, but authors should bear in mind that
excessive length deters potential readers.
Articles that are sound research but only of importance to those
with very closely related interests will not be considered for
publication, but should this only become apparent after peer
review, the authors may be offered publication in one of the
subject-specific BMC journals (such as BMC Cell Biology).
扯了这么多，基本上就是喜欢新发现，而且这种新发现要能引起大家广泛的兴趣，而不仅仅是引起你这个领域研究的科学家的兴趣。只要够新，够有意思，跟生物扯个边的都能发。
大家还要注意了，BMC灰常够意思，下设了23个子刊，给了我们so many 选择！要真认准了BMC，发不了BMC
biology发它个小弟刊也行啊！bmc

BMC Microbiology (ISSN ) is an online journal publishing
research articles after full peer review. All articles are
published, without barriers to access, immediately upon acceptance.
The journal is published by BioMed Central Ltd, Floor 6, 236 Gray's
Inn Road, London, WC1X 8HL, United Kingdom.
BMC Microbiology is an Open Access, peer-reviewed journal that
considers articles on analytical and functional studies of
prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms, viruses and small
parasites, as well as host and therapeutic responses to them, and
their interaction with the environment.
Criteria for publication
Publication of research articles by BMC Microbiology is
dependent primarily on their validity and coherence , as judged by
peer reviewers, who are also asked whether the writing is
comprehensible and how interesting they consider the article to be.
If an article is of broad interest, the authors may be asked if
they would prefer it to be published in BMC Biology, and the
article may be highlighted in a variety of ways as a service to our
readers and contributors。
这个更为专业一些，基本上跟微生物相关的 鉴定个新蛋白 新功能 有良好的实验数据支持
就OK了。这是09年的一篇文章“Characterization of the meningococcal DNA
glycosylase Fpg involved in base excision
repair”觉得做科学做到这份上也挺那个劲的，你说人家大肠的研究的都挺详尽了，你拿个其他菌的，找个跟大肠的同源基因鉴定一下，嘿，就是篇新文章！
什么方法啊，思路啊，甚至文章框架可以基本照搬。不过话说回来了，能发文章就是本事，在中国这种重点数，看数量的科研环境中，适者生存是最基本的道理。笔者曾看到一所2流大学招聘生物学的博士，基本要求是博士期间要有15篇以上的SCI，不说啥了。嘿嘿，这又扯远了！下面介绍BMC的另外一个小弟。

BMC Molecular Biology is an Open Access, peer-reviewed journal
that considers articles on all aspects of DNA and RNA in a cellular context,
encompassing investigations of chromatin, replication,
recombination, mutation, repair, transcription, translation and RNA
processing and function.

这个范围就广了，什么DNA，RNA，染色体，什么复制，转录，翻译，什么重组，修复，突变啊&
都能发。这个是笔者目前一篇文章的备投杂志。来篇08年的文章“Essential and distinct roles of the
F-box and helicase domains of Fbh1 in DNA damage
repair.”是不是也没啥啊！
