　　Lesson 77: A successful operation　　The mummy of an Egpytain woman who died in 800 BC has just had an operation.The mummy is that of Shepenmut who was once a singer in the Temple of Thebes.As there were strange remarkes on the X-ray plates taken of the mummy,doctors have been trying to find out whether the woamn died of a rare disease.The only way to do this was to operat.The operation,which lasted for over four hours,proved to be very diffcult because of the hard resin which covered the skin.The doctors removed a section of the mummy and sent it to a laboratory.They also found something which the X-ray plates did not show:a small wax figure of the god Duamutef.The god which has the head of cow is normally placed inside a mummy.The doctors have not yet decided how the woman died.They feared that the mummy would fall into pecices,when they cut it open,but fortunately this has not happened.The mummy successfully survived the operation.

　　　　楼主我想问一下你背了新概念对你的听力有帮助吗？还有就是你的连读方面的技巧？　　-----------------------------------------------------------　　听力的确有帮助,不过我不仅仅依靠背,我每天都有听收音机,坚持&磨&耳朵.上次看了一部电影《生死朗读》，能听懂好些，感觉很兴奋，后来找女主角Cate Winslet 的获奖感言，能听得一个大概吧。　　连读？我觉得我在这方面还没有什么心得，因为我感觉我有好些音读的不太准，尤其是名词复数和动词的过去式，不能确定读音是否正确。有什么经验分享给我吗？　　　　另外，我很想说，其实背新概念远没有我们想象的那样，尤其是对每天求快的人来说，因为背了，你没有反复去操练朗读，或者复习，很快就会忘记，没有用。只有反复操练，才能体会英语的语感，才能让英语自然生根。　　　　还有就是，仅仅背新概念或者学习新概念，似乎太狭窄了（前提是学有一定基础），我觉得很有必要去听其他的，或看一看英文的原著，以及看看英文电影电视。

traveling by air and only on one occasion have I ever felt frightened.After taking off,the plane was flying low over the city,slowly gaining height.When the plane suddenly turned round and flew back to the airport.while we were waiting to land,a flight attendant told us to keep calm and to get off the plane quietly as soon as it had touched down.Everybody on board was worried and curious to know what had happened.Later we learnt that there was a very important person on board,the police had been told that a bomb had been planted on the plane.After we had landed,the plane had been searched thoroughly.Fortunately nothing was found and five hours later we were able to take off again.
　　半年前到你这帖子，如今还在坚持，想想实在汗颜，那时候好像也在上面留言过要学习，但却一直没有行动！不能再放纵自己了
　　自己的进度太慢了，但是一定要坚持下去。最近要准备四月的自考和五月的证书考试，真是有些压力了。对英语好像也无法坚持，也许太忙正是一个懒惰者的借口吧。
