Millions of years ago dinosaurs lived on the earth. In the days of dinosaurs the whole earth was warm and wet. There were green forests and they could find enough to eat. Later, parts of the earth became cold and dry,and the forests there died. Then dinosaurs could not find enough to eat. This must be one reason why dinosaurs died out.
We can guess another reason. New kinds of animals came on the earth. Some had big brains and were fast and strong. They could kill dinosaurs.
There may be other reasons that we don't know about yet. Scientists are trying to make more discoveries about dinosaurs.
Dinosaurs were of many sizes and shapes (形状). Some were as small as chickens, while some were about 90 feet long.
There were also terrible fights between dinosaurs. They might have happened more than 100 million years ago. Though there was no man to see any of the fights, we can be told by the animal's footprints(足迹)that fight did take place.

What do you usually do when a flying insect lands on your arm? You may blow it away. But what if that insect is a ladybug (瓢虫)?
It is possible that you would let it stay. What is it about ladybugs that we like?
Farmers once thought ladybugs were a good lucky sign. A ladybug in the field meant the crops would be successful and that the weather would be good. The farmers may have thought too highly of such a small bug, but in fact ladybugs do help out with the crops. They eat harmful insects.
Actually, it is not the adult ladybug that eats other insects. It's the baby ladybug. When the baby ladybugs hatch(孵化), they are very hungry and will eat mites, aphids,
mealybugs, green flies, and other crop-destroyers. In the 1800s, ladybugs were brought all the way from Australia to California and set free among orange trees that were dying from being eaten by insects.
They completely saved all the trees.
Ladybugs go about their daily business without worrying much about anything. Very few birds or insects will eat a ladybug because it gives off a dangerous fluid (液体). Ladybugs also protect themselves by playing dead. They fall off leaves and stay still until their attacker goes away.
So the next time you see a ladybug, think about what it may be doing. Maybe it is off to save an orange tree. Maybe its next move will be to roll off a leaf and play dead or stand_up_to a bird about 100 times its size. Maybe it's letting you know that the weather will be good tomorrow. Who knows? Ladybugs are special that way.

Opossum had always admired Raccoon because he had a beautiful tail with rings all around it. So Opossum went up to Raccoon and said: “How did you get those pretty rings on your tail?” Raccoon stroked his fluffy (披着绒毛的) long tail and said, “Well, I wrapped bark around the tail here and here and here,”he pointed, “Then I stuck my tail into the fire.
The fur between the strips of bark turned black and the places underneath the bark remained white, just as you see!”

He wrapped the bark around his furry tail, built a big bonfire,
and stuck his tail into the flames.
Only the bonfire was too hot and too fierce.

62.until/till until
66.whom whom引导定语从句,修饰先行词other people。
68.on leave sb. on one's own意思是“让某人单独留下”。

I just come back from Britain last week. I was luckily enough to be one of the students from different country to visit the UK from Feb. 16 to 28. We visited to many places, like London, Oxford or the Lake District. I learned much about British culture and history in London, where was my favorite. I also liked Oxford, where I saw much old buildings. The Lake District was beautiful, but it was pity that it rained heavily when they were there. The most exciting thing for me in Britain was what I made a lot of friends there.

Dear sir or madam,
I'm writing to appeal to the visitors in the zoo to behave themselves there.___________________________________________

One possible version:
Dear_sir_or_madam,
I'm_writing_to_appeal_to_the_visitors_in_the_zoo_to_behave_themselves_there.
Recently, there are often reports in the newspaper that people got hurt by the animals in the zoo. As we all know, some animals won't attack people unless they feel endangered. In most cases, people are hurt by animals when people are trying to disturb or feed them. Therefore people are responsible for these incidents, because they don't know how to get on with animals. It's obviously wrong that people make these animals angry or get too close to them or feed them without permission.
I do hope people can keep in mind that they should obey the rules while in the zoo.
