外形方面，这款笔记本采用铝合金材质外壳，表面拥有阳极氧化工艺，不仅能够有效保证机身强度，而且还能提升整机的美观性。机身外壳还拥有横向拉丝纹理，拉丝为间断式设计，在灯光反射下的视觉效果非常出色，并且不会轻易的留下指纹。沿袭了戴尔笔记本电脑的一贯风格，外壳的设计非常简约，仅在中间保留戴尔logo，没有多余的装饰，给人以简洁大方之感。由于金属会减弱网络信号传输，为了克服这一缺点戴尔15 7000外壳顶部还设计有凹槽型长条来保证WiFi信号的良好传输。机身外壳上边缘还拥有金属切割倒角，棱角设计细致到位，可谓是点睛之笔。虽然机身为金属材质，但切割的质感还是比较出色的，手指滑过时手感舒适、顺畅，没有割手的感觉。
