It is often less expensive to buy goods _A.inquality and quantityyB. in quality选?

&increasing→increasingly
&liked→like
&merchant→merchants
&delivering→delivered
&which→what
&our→their
&word之前加a
试题分析:
&用副词修饰形容词popular。
&一般现在时,所以liked→like。
&表示转折,故用But
&根据some,故后面用名词复数。
&offer sb. sth.是固定用法,意思是向某人提供某物。
&根据the items,所以用is→are。
&deliver与其逻辑主语the
items之间是被动关系,故用过去分词作定语。
&这里含有一个介词后的宾语从句,且引导词在从句中作宾语,表示“什么”的含义,故用what。
&根据“they”,所以our→their。
&&in a word是固定用法,意思是总而言之。

DI don’t like getting up too early unless I have to. When you’re filming, you’ve got make-up on, which doesn’t happen often. As I’m not filming at present I’ll get up at 8.30. Work normally means Matt coming over to my house about 10 am. We’re writing at the moment. We’ll chat for a bit before going to my study. One of us will have an idea for a sketch (梗概), we’ll talk about the characters and when we feel we have enough we’ll start writing. Matt and I met at the National Youth Theatre in 1990 and started doing shows together in ’95, at the Edinburgh Fringe festival. We know we’re onto something if we’ve made each other laugh, and that’s a really special moment. It’s not always like that, but we’re comfortable enough with each other that we can be honest and go. Some days you’re not in the mood to be funny—like writing when my dad was dying of cancer, or when Matt was separating from his partner. We stop for lunch and sometimes go to Wagamama in Camden, but the last time we were followed by paparazzi (狗仔队), which gets you down—who wants to be pictured eating noodles? When I’m not writing with Matt I work on other projects. My second children’s book comes out later in the year. It’s called Mr. Stink. The first one I dedicated to my three-year-old nephew, Eddie. Both books have been illustrated by Quentin B it’s been a thrill to work with him—like 20 years ago reading a Roald Dahl book and looking at those drawings, then one day that person illustrates your work… magical. At 5 I go swimming in Soho. My trainer makes me do horrible exercises, but I always feel better after.Being in all day, I like to go out in the evening and look smart, but not like I’ve come out of the City. I’m a tall, broad guy and well-dressed. For dinner I’ll meet friends. When you’re a single guy it’s great to have some good female friends. Or I might take my mum to the theatre, as I know she really appreciates it. I like watching TV comedy shows to see what everyone’s doing. When you see something impressive it makes you work harder. I also love Larkin’s poems: they don’t try to transcend (超越) they’re much more straightforward. Poetry is great to dip into before going to bed, rather than falling asleep reading a novel and being confused over what you’ve read or not. I haven’t had a good night’s
unfortunately, I rely on pills. I’ve tried everything. If I could wish anything for myself, I’d wish I could sleep better. 67. It can be inferred from the passage that _______. A. the author spends much time with his friendsB. the author and Matt are both famous in the district C. the author doesn’t care much about what to wear D. the author works at home and seldom goes out every day 68. Why does the author read some poetry before going to bed? A. Because poetry can often bring him some funny ideas. B. Because poetry is much easier to understand than novels. C. Because poetry is very abstract and reflects unusual things. D. Because poetry can be of some help for him to kill time. 70. What might be the best title for the passage? A. A day’s work with Matt&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& B. A new life-style&C. A life in the day&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& D. A good way to write

I was 230 pounds this spring and I decided to get down to a healthier 200.In a house full of food, including snacks bought for my 7&year&old sons,I had a hard time cutting calories. Then I noticed my neighbors were having diet meals (减肥餐).I decided to do the same, knowing I would never be able to stick to a diet if I had to do the buying and cooking myself. I was looking for food that I could afford but I might take a diet more seriously if it hurt me in the wallet. After online searches,I decided to compare the offerings of four companies:Zone Manhattan,Chefs Diet,Nu&Kitchen and eDiets. All four would send the meals to my door. Three send food daily, while eDiets sends a large package once a week. There were dozens of companies I could have chosen.Research suggests that the economic crisis has made diet programs less tempting.Consumers prefer do&it&yourself diets with foods bought from the supermarket.Nu&Kitchen regards itself as the “personal chef”.I ordered the five&day plan ($230.53) and the taste was disappointing. I neither lost nor gained weight on the food.eDiets promises “healthy, delicious meals sent to your door”.I ordered five breakfasts, five lunches and five dinners. My total cost was $119.70,or less than $25 a day. Overall, the food from eDiets was better than that from Nu&Kitchen.Chefs Diet charged $380.99 for seven days, making it the most expensive of the four services.I never tasted anything terrible, but I never tasted anything that made me want to renew for a second week.Zone Manhattan charged $349.80,with tax,for a week’s supply of food,or about $50 a day.I liked the food so much that I lost six pounds in the first four days on the diet.【小题1】When the author began to have diet meals,she________.A.was 200 poundsB.didn’t have any childrenC.worked as a cook in a company offering diet mealsD.didn’t believe she could stick to a diet if she had to cook herself【小题2】What does the underlined word “tempting” in Paragraph 2 mean?A.Attractive. A typicalChinese Internet user is a young male who prefers instant messaging to e-mail, favors news, music and games sites and seldom makes online purchases(购物).According to a study, about two-thirds of survey participants use the Internet for news — often entertainment-related — or for online games.About half download music and movies. They also tend to prefer instant messaging to e-mail, and they are depending on the Internet more frequently than before to communicate with others who have the same professions, hobbies and political interests.Online purchases still remain unpopular in China.Three-quarters of users surveyed have never bought anything over the Internet, and only 10 percent make purchases even once a month.Among those who do buy online, most pay for entertainment while others buy phone cards, or computer hardware or software.“Many people don’t trust the quality of goods bought online,” Guo said Wednesday.“If they buy it in a store and don’t like it, they can easily bring it back.”The survey was done in five major cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Changsha. Results do not necessarily project countrywide because Internet use in rural areas is lower than in cities.Guo describes the typical netizenin the five cities surveyed as young, male, richer and more highly educated.Males make up two-thirds of the Internet community, and more than 80 percent of users are under 24.Among people ages 25 to 29, 60 percent to 80 percent go online.China has more than 100 million people online, second in the world to the United States.【小题1】A typical Chinese Internet user may be the one who _________.A.likes to send e-mailsB.likes to buy goods onlineC.likes to pay for entertainmentD.likes the games sites【小题2】Online purchases still remain unpopular in China mainly because _________.A.it is more difficult for sales returnsB.people haven’t computersC.it is not convenient to purchase on line D.all goods bought online are of low quality【小题3】Which of the following words fails to describe the typical netizens in the five cities?A.well educatedB.richerC.femaleD.young【小题4】According to the text, which of the following shows the right relation between online people and their ages?广东省中山市学年高二上学期期末英语试题 Word版含答案jxdaiguangbo_百度文库
