Google makes 4K video official in Google Play, but only for the US and Canada right now
Total Shares238
We started getting reports of 4K videos rolling out in&Google Play , but&not everyone could see the 4K option and Google didn't list a separate price for it. Google has&now made it official&4K video is available for rental or purchase in the Play Store. However, there isn't very much of it right now, and you can't even get 4K everywhere.
Only the US and Canada will have access to 4K videos at first. More regions will follow, and hopefully there will be more content by then too. Only&125 movies&are available in 4K at launch (Google doesn't mention any 4K TV). The pricing shown in the blog post is $7.99 for a 4K rental and $29.99 to buy a 4K movie. Additionally, not all titles can be rented&and bought in 4K. Sometimes it's just one or the other.
You can watch your 4K Google Play content on a Chromecast Ultra or on Sony Bravia 4K TVs with Android TV built-in. Interestingly, Google does not mention the Shield, which has 4K video output. It's not clear if that's an oversight or the Shield is somehow lacking support at present.

Statement of Need Program for Medical Graduates Pursuing Postgraduate Medical Training in the US: 2018 and 2019
Important Notice:
Applicants
should review these instructions before they apply for postgraduate training
in the United States (US) for which they need to request a Statement of Need.
All J-1 physicians sponsored
for clinical training are subject to the two-year home
country return requirement under the United States’ Immigration and Nationality Act.
Those wishing to pursue a career as a physician in Canada must take into account
the realities of Canada’s current physician workforce needs and will need to
be flexible with regard to their choice of specialty and the type and
location of their future practice. It is important to note that those who
complete residency training outside of Canada have no guarantee of securing
employment in their desired specialty or practice location upon return.
When foreign national medical graduates wish to
pursue postgraduate medical training in the US, they must obtain an appropriate
visa that permits entry to the US to undertake clinical training activities. The
designated visa for foreign national medical graduates is the J-1 Visa, a
temporary non-immigrant visa, reserved for participants in the Exchange Visitor Sponsorship Program (EVSP), issued
A Statement of Need is one of a number of requirements
of the EVSP that must be met before a J-1 Visa can be issued to a medical
graduate by the ECFMG.
Statements of Need are issued by Health Canada, in
collaboration with provincial and territorial ministries of health, to medical
graduates as a requirement to obtain a J-1 Visa to enter the US to pursue
postgraduate medical training.
Below you will find a description of the program as
well as instructions on how to apply for a Statement of Need from Health Canada.
J-1 Visa requirements
All foreign national medical graduates must apply
to the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) to obtain
the J-1 Visa, as part of the Exchange Visitor Sponsorship Program. Before ECFMG
will issue a &J-1 Visa, foreign national
medical graduates must, among other requirements, obtain a Statement of Need
from their home country.
Statements of Need in Canada
Health Canada issues Statements of Need, on behalf
of Canadian , to medical graduates as part of the requirement to
obtain a J-1 Visa to enter the US for the purpose of participation in
postgraduate medical training.
A Statement of Need is a letter issued by Health
Canada to medical graduates as a requirement in order to obtain a J-1 Visa to
enter the US to pursue postgraduate medical training. Statements of Need
confirm that certain qualified medical practitioners are needed in Canada and
that the medical graduates who are pursuing postgraduate medical education in
the US sincerely intend to return to Canada and practice medicine in the field
of medicine in which they will receive the training. Applicants are expected to
pursue training that is needed in Canada (see the List of Needed Specialties).
Applicants are expected to pursue medical training that is recognized by the
Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or the College of Family
Physicians of Canada, and Canadian medical regulatory authorities, and that will
lead to specialty certification and medical licensure in a province or
territory.Eligibility for a Statement of Need
Applicants must be either a Canadian citizen or a
permanent resident of Canada possessing a valid Permanent Resident Card.List of Needed Specialties
Pan-Canadian List of Needed Specialties is a list of eligible fields of
practice for which physicians seeking post-graduate medical training in the
United States may obtain a Statement of Need. This list is intended for
Category B applicants wishing to pursue specialty training.
Each provincial and territorial
government has their own methodology for determining their physician workforce
needs and then works with Health Canada to define an overall pan-Canadian
list.& This allows for evolving
pan-Canadian physician workforce planning to be reflected in the Statement of
Need Program.
Once the limits have been reached for a
particular specialty, no further
Statements of Need will be issued that year for that field of training, as
the pan-Canadian need has been met.
Please note that
specialty training that does not appear on this List will NOT be supported.Application requirements for a Statement of Need
To apply for a Statement of Need, applicants must
complete an application form and provide a number of documents to Health
Canada. There is no fee for applying for a Statement of Need. The specific
requirements for the issuing of a Statement of Need depend on the profile of
the applicant and the type of medical training being sought in the US. The
requirements for obtaining a Statement of Need from Health Canada are subject
to change as they are reviewed annually by provincial and territorial
ministries and departments of health.
Consult the descriptions below and select the
category that best describes you. The specific page for each category describes
the documents and conditions required to apply for a Statement of Need.
