Farmers did not use just one constellation. It was a combination of  constellations. For example, above ground crops and leafy annual  plannts were thought to do best if pla&nted under the water signs of  Cancer, Pices, and Scorpio. On the other hand, root crops like  carrots and potatoes were planted under the earth signs of  Capricorn, Taurus, and Virgo.

The method used by farmers for centuries has been selective breeding. Animals with desirable characteristics are allowed or encouraged to "cross-breed" with other desirable sp&ecimens. Only plants with the most desirable traits were kept and allowed to reproduce. In the last century hybridization was added to the breeders' arsenal.

Farmers plant their crops in the winter time because winter has the most rain, and they harvest in summer because it is too hot to plant crops in summer time.
Actually, the a&bove answer is relevant only for those countries where snowy winters never exist, such as Greece or the Middle East, definitely not Canada or the USA. Where snowy winters DO exist, the best time to harvest crops is in the autumn because seeding is done in the spring, crops are grown in the summer before being harvested in the fall/autumn.

Mistletoe growing on lower branches are just picked, where it grows higher a ladder is used. In the higher parts of the tree where a ladder won't reach it is actually shot dow&n using a shot gun. This dates back to the old days and how farmers usually did it to harvest it & save their trees, and yes they REALLY shot it down ..........!!!

Quality can be improved in many ways based on the product or  service. Better materials, more details, offering a wider variety,  are a few ways to improve it.
Crops are harvested to provide energy for various sources but usually as a foodstuff for humans or animals. As crops grow and develop the amount of energy stored in the crop a&lso increases and the farmer has to judge when the levels of energy stored is at its likely maximum level as this will be the optimum time to harvest. If allowed to grow too long the crop starts to use its own energy reserves to develop seeds etc and energy levels start to fall and if not allowed to mature enough before harvest then levels of energy may be lower then expected when harvested.
