答：这是词的法.查一本大的词典就可以搞定.after 可作连词,引导时间状语从句.也可以作介词,后跟名词或动名词.after doing sth.中的after 是介词,后为动名词,是非谓语,没有时态的概念.只有作连词引导时间状语从句时,才要考虑从句和主句中谓语的时态问题.after 引导的时间状语有两种,将来的和过去的.你的例子是指将来的.在时间和条件状语从句中用现在时态表将来,所谓的“主将从现”：I will watch TV after I finish my homework.如果是指在过去某个动作发生之后又发生另一个动作,先发生的用过去完成时态,后发生的用一般过去时态.After A had happened.B happened.非正式英语,由于after 一词已经表达两个动作的先后关系,可以两个都用一般过去时态：After A happened,B happened.Before 也类似.

我认为翻译的过程是直接的，意会和理解都需要，针对不同的情形，翻译时需要不同的应对，有些英文当中的俗语，说出来中国人不一定理解，这就需要意会后用中文中的词语表达，有时则要直接了当，避免中文中委婉含蓄的表示。翻译是灵活的，表达清晰的，和个人的中文英文水平有关系，和实践有关，以及对中外文化政治经济的了解都很重要。
我是考GRE的，这个问题也困扰了我好久，我最后知道，不能翻译，我们应该把英语符号直接理解，不要转换成中文
