华丽摇滚（Glam Rock）脱胎于硬摇滚，兴盛于上世纪70年代，特点是性别模糊的装扮，华丽戏剧化的台风和颓废慵懒的音乐风格。伟大的摇滚变色龙David Bowie、被誉为经典中的经典的皇后乐队、还有本世纪初火热的一塌糊涂的Scissor Sisters乐队，都是华丽摇滚的代表人物。这种音乐和她背后所附带着的一系列的行为、穿戴深深影响了70年代的年轻人，并将这种影响延伸到了之后的PUNK音乐、哥特音乐、金属音乐甚至远播到日本成就了视觉系摇滚乐和至今风靡的cosplay运动。而Adam Lambert的出现，也许将再一次点燃华丽摇滚的火焰。
Adam Lambert的首张专辑《For Your Entertainment》吸引了众多金牌制作人和流行艺人，制作人中既包括极具商业眼光的流行制作人Max Martin，也有备受格莱美青睐，艺术气息浓厚的Linda Perry,在保证专辑流行度的同时，也能体现adam在艺术方面的造诣。这首《Whataya Want From Me》就是由粉红佳人Pink等创作的，本来是打算放到Pink自己的专辑《Funhouse》内的，但阴差阳错的没有收录。而当Adam Lambert在全美音乐奖中表演了这首歌之后（AMA事件），这首有特殊意义的歌曲，迅速替代“For Your Entertainment”成为专辑主打歌曲。
词语解析：
1. 歌曲中的whataya其实是美国口语中对what do you的缩写形式，类似的用法还有gonna（going to的缩写）、wanna（want to）的缩写、kinda（kind of的缩写）等。例如：He’s gonna give it a try. I wanna hold your hand. I kinda like that girl.

Work something out表示“想出解决问题的办法或方案”，如，We worked out a plan to save money.（我们想出了一个省钱的方案）
