凭借独家HBM技术对4K以及VR虚拟技术的优秀支持、不错的性价比和惬意的水冷方案,AMD R9 FURY系列在市场上销量不错,拿下了不少高端显卡份额。随着一年一度的台北电脑展即将到来,AMD、英伟达都将带来新一代“北极星”和“帕斯卡”,然而所谓的GTX1080/GTX1070也只是帕斯卡核心搭GDRR5X/GDRR5,这让AMD长松一口气,同时也更加自信,按原计划推出了传闻已久的双核AMD Radeon Pro Duo 。
AMD Radeon Pro Duo专攻VR 市场,特别是VR应用开发者环境,支持LiquidVR虚拟现实技术,搭配Oculus Rift和HTC Vive可享受2K分辨率下90 FPS的震撼享受,即使高速动态游戏环境也能有更好的视觉体验。另外,能耗比再度优化到只有350W TDP,采用双冷头AIO酷冷至尊水冷散热器,是一块静音高效的顶级游戏、VR游戏或VR开发者显卡。AMD Radeon Pro Duo定位双核旗舰级,售价高达1499美元(约9730元)。
AMD Radeon Pro Duo造型设计上延续着R9 FURY系列全封闭式风罩,采用一体AIO水冷方案(两组水冷头串联,来自酷冷至尊水冷方案),背后有加固的金属背板,侧面铝镁装饰条和背光灯组合,整体设计比较低调,自带的120mm加厚水冷排配合静音PWM风扇能有效处理高达450W热能。
AMD Radeon Pro Duo搭载双核28nm制程Fiji核心,每颗含4096 SP(共8192个)、256组TMUs单元、64组ROPs单元、提供超级8192bit位宽(4096X2)。双4GB HBM超级位宽显存,相较于GDDR5的512bit,HBM拥有惊人的4069bit频宽,而且频率也提升至1000 MHz(R9 FURY被强制锁频在500MHz)。
经过拆解PCB用料发现,AMD Radeon Pro Duo主板长27cm,比之前R9 295X2和HD 6990(30cm)略短。作为双核单卡,这一切要归功于HBM和核心的高度集成,为PCB布局节省了不少空间。整块卡用料相当紧凑,左右两侧双FIJI核心周围围绕着大量供电,中间有PLX桥接主控和主控电源主控,每颗核心采用4+2VRM供电,由3个8针PCIe辅助供电,最大提供525W,然而AMD Radeon Pro Duo只有350W TDP,远比AMD Radeon R9 295×2的 500W和Radeon R9 Fury X单卡275W更高效。AMD Radeon Pro Duo采用双槽设计空间,尾部包括3个DisplayPort和单HDMI,支持多路及4K输出。
比较遗憾的是,AMD Radeon Pro Duo双核显卡在核心工艺上并未改善,HBM位宽显存依旧只有4GB 容量,让我们期待可以在新的Polaris 10与Polaris 11上看到16nm和HBM2字样的出现吧。
