　　No&more与no&longer
　　no&longer的用法
no&longer意为“不再”，通常放在行为动词前，be动词的后面。&no&longer&可用not…any&longer代替。如：
①Annie&no&longer&lives&here.&安妮不住这儿了。
②She&is&no&longer&a&music&lover.她不再是一个音乐爱好者了。
③Her&father&died,&and&after&that&she&no&longer&went&to&school.&(&＝she&didn't&go&to&school&any&longer)她的父亲去世了，此后她就不再上学了。
no&&more/not…any&more与no&&longer/not…any&longer同义，但用法有所区别：当涉及数量和程度时，要用no&more。如：
①There&is&&no&more&bread.&没有面包了。
②We&saw&him&no&more&=&We&didn't&see&him&again.&我们再也没有看到他了。
▲而谈到时间、强调今昔对比时，不能用no&more，而要用&not…any&more,&no&longer/&not…any/&longer。

先说not … any more和not … any longer. 严格地说，not … any more与瞬间动词连用，而not … any longer与持续性动词连用。（结合词义也不难理解：much是指“次数多”，not … any more是指“不再一次次地发生”；long是指“时间长”，not … any longer是指“不再持续”。）如：He didn’t live here any longer. We couldn’t see him any more.（当然，如果不是出于应试的需要，你也不妨了解一下：在语言实际中，not … any more和not … any longer并不是严格区分的，彼此通用。）再看no more和no longer.no more常用于正式语体，而not … any more则比较口语化。同理，no longer也比not … any longer正式。至于两者之间的比较，除了上述跟不同类型的动词连用外，它们在句子中的位置也有所不同。no more位于句尾，而no longer则位于动词之前。如：He no longer lived here. We could see him no more.最后，也许有必要补充一句：以上阐述都是基于not … any more或no more解释“不再”，像下列句子中not … any more (或no more) 显然是不能改为not … any longer (或no longer) 的：I don’t want any more. (I want no more.)A whale is no more a fish than a horse is.（鲸之非鱼正如马之非鱼。也即 鲸和马皆非鱼。）

not...any more表示次数不再继续；如：他哭了好几次，他不再哭了。He didn't cry any more. 而 not ...any longe表示时间不再继续。如：他等了很久，不能再等了。He couldn't wait any longer. no longer / no more / not any longer / not any more 不再, 再也不 --- no more / no longer 放在 be 动词、助动词、情态动词之后，行为动词之前. no more 多用来修饰具体动词；no longer多用来修饰某种具体状态动词．例如： He no longer lived here. He has no more trouble. Bruce works in a company. He is no more a student. --- 表示时间“一度，曾经”，强调以前的情况不再继续下去，once but not now。用no longer, not any longer, not any more.但no longer, not any longer多与持续性动词连用；not any more 多与终止性动词连用。 She used to study English, but she doesn’t study it any longer/any more. I am afraid she doesn’t live here any longer/any more. Does Tom live here? No he no longer lives here. He is no longer happy. He doesn't come here any more. ( 不用any longer) no longer=not any longer no more=not any more no more 和 not any more 可以做宾语，no longer 不可以 No longer意思是“不再”，其确切含意为某状态在某个时刻之后不再继续下去了。所以，当你从学校毕业了，就可以说：I'm no longer a student.我不再是个学生了。 有两个短语和no longer同义，即not…any longer和not…any more，但他们侧重的方面不同。前者侧重时间，比如： He no longer lives here. = He doesn't live here any longer. 他不在这儿居住了。(一个时间以前他住在这儿，过了这个时间，他就离开了。) 后者侧重程度和数量，比如： You can drink no more. = You can't drink any more. 你不能再喝了。(喝酒的量到了一定程度，不能再继续下去了。) 要注意的是：由于no longer本身就带有否定的含义，即表示“再也不”，所以不能在同一个句子中加入否定词，比如： I'll come here no longer.我再也不来了。

　　比较not&any&more,no&more,not&any&longer,no&longer的用法
　　no&longer&与no&more用法区别
　　no&longer“不再……”，相当于not&any&longer；&no&more“不再”，相当于not&any&more。这些短语常可通用，但应注意它们在句中的位置变化。例如：&
He&is&no&longer&/&no&more&a&child.&=&He&is&not&a&child&any&longer&/&more.&=&He&is&not&any&longer&/&more&a&child.他不再是一个小孩。&
值得注意的是：表示某个动作和状态因为某种因素而突然不再延续时，应用no&longer&或not&any&longer，而不可用no&more或not&any&more。&
