中国海洋石油总公司(中海油)宣布，其中国旗舰深海石油钻井平台“海洋石油981号”已经在缅甸安达曼海进行海上钻探作业。
中海油表示，这口缅甸海上勘探井的目标深度是海平面以下5000米，这也是目前为止其所承担的最深的钻探深度。
10亿美元的钻井平台“海洋石油981号”注册在CNPC，2007年出，缅甸当局把3个深水区块AD-1区块、AD-6区块和AD-8区块授予了CNPC，3个区块总面积为1万平方公里。
