Q: How to tie ―old-time‖ traditions with modern
A: Start 2010 with Marsha McCloskey, known for
her Feathered Star and Blended Quilt designs!
Her quilts have a traditional look, yet are an
inspiration to all quilters. She encourages her
students to branch out into new color schemes and
fabric uses. Marsha's designs for multi-fabric, rotarycut
and machine-pieced quilts can all be made by the
average quilter.

The QGGH Day meeting will now be meeting on the 3rd Friday of the month in the Ampitheater.
Just a reminder that lunch on Fridays is from 11:30-12:30 and Michael usually prepares a wonderful
hot lunch for $6.
It’s Time to Retreat Again!!
Registration for the February Retreat will begin at the December evening meeting!
Retreat dates are Friday–Sunday, February 5-7 with Thursday, February 4 as a $25 optional extension.
Congratulations to Jane Plisga - winner of the quilt from the December meeting. Seems appropriate given all the hard work that she put into it!
Charity Quilt Day
YOU ARE ALL INVITED to join other members of the guild for Charity Quilt Day. We
plan to make lots of quilts and have a great time doing what we love – sewing. So join
us at MDPC on Saturday, January 30th from 9 am – 4 pm. We will provide the fabric and
the batting in pre-cut packets.
You will need to bring your sewing machine, extra needles, neutral thread, what ever else
you need for quilting like a seam ripper or rotary cutter AND a pot-luck dish to share at
lunchtime. The guild will provide irons and boards, extension cords, water and paper
products, a chance to make new friends, re-connect with old friends, an opportunity to
practice and improve your quilting skills, AND heartfelt appreciation for your gift of time to the
