Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology
With the driver revision change of the latest W7 compatible storage management driver has come a name change as well from
Intel Matrix Storage Manager to Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology with new driver version v9.5.0.1037.
I've already installed it & it really improved my HD performance with NCQ enabled compared to drivers v8.9.0.1023.
It now is faster in AHIC mode on a single drive compared to IDE mode with this new driver so I'm very pleased with it.
My full system specs are below in my post. (bottom lefthand corner)

Intel has release an update to the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Drivers from v9.5.0.1037 to v9.6.0.1014.
I've already installed & tested the drivers & have had no issues
with AHCI & NCQ Enabled in the bios. Fast bootup time & response times!

I've got this technology, but the v8.9.0.1023 provided by my manufacturer...i thought i couldn't upgrade without the manufacturer driver...so thanks for the post & link!
PS: I'm on laptop computer...might they have the Laptop &SATA AHCI pilote& driver instead the Desktop one?

I've sucessfully installed the NEW one...The &Intel Matrix Storage Manager v8.9.0.1023& was what was provided with my computer when i bought it. Everything seems working well since then, and i'm not disapointing yet!
It did not improve my WEI Score but i do let it manage disk devices & Atapi devices by itself!
First i thought the Fan was more noisy so i rolled back to the previous driver...but since not, i decided to reinstall this new driver!
I did no benchmark as you did...maybe will try next driver!

Quick background-I restored my drive from image and i cannot recall what i did to make it a bit faster. i think it had to do with Chipset or IRST.

used as a Caching disk using Intel's Rapid Storage Technology.
followed the set up procedure which required a BIOS change to RAID Mode
before the OS was installed.

本文转载自PC Perspective，原标题为Intel Skylake / Z170 Rapid Storage Technology Tested - PCIe and SATA RAID。为帮助理解，编者为各段增加了小标题。DMI带宽提升带来存储应用新天地Intel Skylake发布时公布的少量新闻令人惊讶和印象深刻，全新Z170芯片组将提升DMI通道速率，接近翻倍的带宽将释放更多存储系统潜能。过去很长一段时间内，DMI被认为是Intel SATA控制器总带宽被限制在1.8GB/s的罪魁祸首，有限的带宽影响了3块以上SSD组建RAID 0时的性能，而在DMI带宽提升之后，通过SSD六盘RAID0将可提供超过3GB/s的带宽，足以媲美PCIe SSD。如上图所示，华硕Z170主板的UEFI BIOS设置当中已经为Intel的全新RST功能增加了额外的选项。实战PCIE SSD组建RAID 0，小菜一碟我们在主板上安装了两块Intel 750 SSD，其中一块安装在第三条PCIE插槽（第三条插槽是从PCH引出的通道）上，另外一块通过主板自带的U.2/M.2 Hyper Kit（同样是从PCH引出的通道）安装。只有强制使用UEFI CSM（Compatibility Support Module）之后才能显示出相应的选项：过去要组建RAID阵列需要在option ROM出现时按下Ctrl + I，而现在在BIOS当中就能组建RAID阵列了。在这里组建一个由PCIE SSD组成的阵列和以往组建SATA硬盘阵列并无太大区别。上面是由两块Intel 750 1.2TB组成的RAID 0 阵列，总容量2236GB。然并卵，PCIE SSD RAID无法引导组建PCIE SSD到此为止看似过程顺利，而在接下来pcper遇到了麻烦，他们无法完成系统引导，在修改了一些设置使得能够用其他SATA硬盘启动系统后，在系统中无法测试新组建的PCIE SSD RAID 0阵列。在把Intel 750更换为浦科特M6e之后情况也并没有变化，依然是此路不通，pcper决定先暂缓PCIE SSD RAID的测试，寻求华硕与Intel的技术支持，并转而先进行SATA硬盘的RAID测试。Pcper在接下来找到了使RAID 0阵列工作的方法，这里我们还是按照原文顺序为大家介绍，首先来看SATA硬盘的RAID 0。暂停PCIE SSD的测试后，回到SATA上来。如果新的DMI总线能够在连接PCIE RAID的情况下达到标称的3.5GB/秒的带宽，我决定来探索一下SATA RAID的新上限速度。雪上加霜，SATA控制器遭遇性能瓶颈我们找来了六块Intel最新的SATA 6Gbs SSD并找遍整个办公室找到了相应数量的SATA电源线。在连接好六块SSD之后将其组建到一个6盘RAID 0阵列当中，打开最高级别的缓存，然后进行一个简单的带宽验证：事实证明这个Auto选项不够智能，另外需要注意的是打开X4带宽设置会关闭Intel SATA第五和第六端口的使用。从内部层次来看在这块主板上，连接到第三条PCIE插槽中的PCIE通道同时被对应最后两个SATA端口的Intel SATA控制器部分复用，这样一来只有禁用后两个SATA端口才能将四个PCIE通道完整分配给第三条PCIE插槽。在其他主板上可能还会有其他的分配方案，下边的图标展示了Z170主板上存储设备的PCIE通道分配方案，其中存在不少通道复用。接下来的界面就是你平时见不到的了，组建PCIE SSD RAID：条带大小选择和过去基本一样，pcper建议使用RST基于添加到阵列中的硬盘容量而自动选择的默认大小。提高条带大小的代价是小文件性能会下降，而降低条带大小将增大系统的压力从而影响RAID阵列的性能。IOMeter 4KB区块随机读取，队列深度128（4 workers at QD 32 each）：下面对比的是单块Intel 750的测试成绩，同样是ATTO测试，QD=4：这里我们可以看到DMI3.0的饱和带宽大约在3.5GB/s，这样Intel 750组建RAID 0之后持续读取带宽受到影响无法达到翻倍效果，不过持续写入带宽则得到充分发挥。对于硬件发烧友来说，Z170的DMI带宽提升并未带来SATA控制器性能提升，但Z170增加了对PCIE SSD组建RAID阵列的支持，存储系统发烧玩法更加多样化。

PS：我觉得应该是可以从PCI-E RAID 启动的。
