20世纪末21世纪初以来，人们在关注经济高速发展的同时，并没有忽略对生活质量的研究。单一的经济增长并不能代表生活质量的提高，随着国内外对于生活质量研究的深入和完备，人们对生活质量进行评价的角度和方法也深入到社会学、心理学、医学甚至是哲学等多个学科层面，呈现出蓬勃发展的态势。本文从统计学的角度进行评价研究，构建了影响中国现阶段居民生活质量的统计指标体系，指标数据的采集主要来自《中国统计年鉴-2008》，较为权威和准确。在统计方法的选择上，采用多元统计分析中的主成分分析方法，这种方法不但能化繁为简，达到降维的目的，而且能从总体上进行综合评价，因此适合对居民生活质量进行统计分析。在统计软件的选择上，选用了SPSS16.0软件。通过对SPSS16.0软件进行主成分分析的结果进行解释和评价，提出了相关的政策建议。

马可波罗 或1879年,杨少坪辑译了《英字指南》上海书局白纸石印,为中国最早的英语读本,(－－中国古代印刷史)有头尾惜不全，存卷1、2、4、6，可也难觅了，9品。 杨少坪,名勋,常州人,是中国最早一批由正规外语学校培养出来的外语人才,是上海广方言馆学生,未参加过科举。著有《英字指南》六卷。 《北京晚报》曾于5月27日报道了北京发现1904年或之前出版的英文教材，社科院攻读博士学位的张斌看到报道后与记者取得了联系，表明他收藏有一本清朝英文教材《英字指南》，并认为该书比上述教材的年代都要早，且品相完好。值得注意的是，当时很多被认为是由日本人翻译过来的外来科技词汇，从该书的中文译法来看极有可能是由中国人率先翻译的，之后日本人进行了借用。《英字指南》大部分词汇是商品名称和与贸易有关的词汇。其中最有价值的是保存了许多英文词汇的较早期中文翻译，反映了当时中国人对西方自然科学、社会科学的认识和理解，如书中对14种非金属类元素和50种金属类元素(除了金银铜铁等已有词汇之外)进行了汉译，这些译词至今仍在使用，如Iridium(铱)，Platinum(铂)，Nickel(镍)，Uranium(铀)等。Company(公司)、bank(银行)、museum(博物院)等词汇至今也仍在使用，并一直被日本人所借用。 ，《英字指南》为线装本，共六卷，约五百页。卷一是字学浅说，但实为书法与发音入门；卷二仍为按单词音节多少分类的发音入门；卷三是分类字学(上)，包括总论、天文、时令、地理、邦国、都邑、帝后、人伦等类别；卷四是分类字学(下)，包括总论、格物、珍宝、宫室、服饰、饮食、疾病、医药、走兽、昆虫等；卷五为贸易须知；卷六是通商要语。
