set down其实不仅仅是“记下”的意思，如果说英语中的set有一万种用法或词组都不为过，单独的把set down理解为记下显然是不对的，像set down或者set up简单的词组真的无法直接翻译，很多时候在不同的语境下有不同的意思。单独的说，当set down和write down放在相同语境下时，set down显然是包含了write down的意思的，同样是记下，而write down更强调了“写”，而set down只是简单的描述“记下”这种状态的。
