1. sth. is conditional的意思是说sth. holds true only if certain conditions are satisfied，这里并没有提到任何关于condition的话题，不要脑补单词的意思。其实这个空很简单，就是让你填一个和great（在语境中）意思相反的词，superficial很合适。
2. 最后一个空比较好填，后半句的such flourishing直接表明前面一个空应该是表达发展的意思。既然conversely的情况是发展，那么前面一句就是受限，languish正合适。如果疏于监管导致创意作品发展受限，那么自然要extend相关的法律。
3. A/D挺对的，都有类似道貌岸然的意思，和pious对应。SE不要求单词意思完全一样，只要在语境中相同就可以了
4. 没看懂这里usage是什么意思
5. 我会选BFH，第二空后面应该是new researches，不然说不通啊。以及wonder后面是不是应该有if

1. 最好查英文字典，webster上superficial的引申义有not deep or serious，用在这里就是说这种interrelationship只是很浅层的，不太紧密的的联系，和后半句形成了对比。
3. 这三个词都和虔诚有关，但都不是完全的虔诚。sanctimonious最明显，字典里直接的解释就是 hypocritically pious or devout；preachy则是由preach延伸而来，“布道”是向他人灌输某些宗教或道德观念，但当事人自己是不是相信这些观念我们是不知道的，所以只能说表面上看来他好像很有信仰很有道德；而pious你查过了，某些时候和sanctimonious同义
5. 原文的意思很简单，就是科学家会对科研成果的潜在效益（potential benefits）夸大其词（inflated claims），因为他们缺钱，所以必须过度推销（oversell）
