推出14个月以来，Touch ID已经成为iPhone和iPad系列产品的标志性功能，和也采用了这一功能。Touch ID仍应用支付更为简单，进一步加强了移动安全，同时让苹果Apple Pay成真，不过这个功能仍有其局限性。Reddit用户Xenon808本周询问了一个或许许多用户曾考虑的问题：“为何你需要在重启手机或是一段时间后输入PIN码？”苹果支持网页就此给出了直接的回答：“Touch ID不会储存指纹的任何图像，它只会储存指纹的数学表达式。要想从这个数学表达式中反推指纹图像是不可能的。还具备一个名为Secure Enclave的安全架构，这个架构位于A7芯片中，用于保护密码和指纹数据。指纹数据会被加密保护，仅有Secure Enclave可访问。Secure Enclave会与A7芯片以及iOS设备的其他部分隔开。因此iOS或是其他应用永远无法访问指纹数据，也不会储存在苹果服务器中，或是备份到iCloud或其他地方。只有Touch ID可以使用，不会被用于匹配其他指纹数据库。”因此只有等用户重新登录手机，Touch ID才可与Secure Enclave“交流”，因此用户需要输入密码。（via：）
